“We contracted Darren Seaman and his team at Creative Concepts Construction to build our custom home in the Oakridge area after seeing the quality of his work in a couple of show homes in The Ridge development at the top of Glen Oaks Drive.

The project commenced in the Fall of 2019 and progressed steadily throughout the challenging COVID-19 year. As with many custom homes, there were many changes as we went through the building process and Darren was there at every step of the way to offer advice and suggestions – particularly important for us as we were still living in Calgary and traveling abroad during this period, with occasional visits to Nanaimo to check on the progress.

We were thrilled with the finished product; Darren managed our building project very well, excelled at choosing expert and dedicated tradesmen for his core team and chose the sub-trades carefully with an eye to the quality of their work.

“We recently purchased a new home built by Creative Concepts Construction in the Ridge in Nanaimo.  The Ridge is a newer area of Nanaimo at the end of Glen Oaks Drive up from the older developed area known as Oakridge.  It was not our first choice of location.  We thought that we would be better suited to an area that was more walkable and more level, for example, the area of Departure Bay.  However, once we saw our new home and became aware of the quality of workmanship and attention to detail the builder, Creative Concepts Construction, employs, we were convinced that we could trade off the walkability and convenience of another area in the city.  Darren Seaman, the principal of Creative Concepts Construction, is a trained finishing carpenter.  The quality and the detail in our new home attests to the pride that Darren takes in his finished product.  One of the many things that impresses me is that Darren has a group of tradespeople that he uses over and over in his homes – tradespeople that respect his demand for only the highest level of workmanship.  We have also experienced Darren’s commitment to after sales service.  We have only the highest praise for his assistant, Lynne Cameron, who works tirelessly in ensuring that our new home experience be the very best.  She is very efficient and has a great sense of humour, too.
