Bringing it Back to the “Roots”
Terrace Beach Resort was built in 1990 and was known as the Roots Lodge. Cottages and Loft homes, along with a main building, were developed to give the feel of a 1920s oceanfront fishing village nestled in the serene bay of Terrace Beach, in Ucluelet, BC. With new owners, Creative Concepts Construction was hired to get the resort back to its Roots, focusing on major structural upgrades to both the cabins and main building while ensuring lasting strength and preserving the charm.
The exterior received a complete overhaul: including new roofs, cedar siding replacement, waterproofing, and extensive rot and structural repairs. Every wooden deck was rebuilt to modern safety standards, complete with new handrails designed to accommodate private hot tubs with breathtaking ocean views. The project would not have been complete without a warm, natural stain palette, perfectly complementing the surrounding forest and ocean.
This transformation honours the resort’s history while enhancing comfort, safety, and beauty—bringing guests closer to the roots of the West Coast experience.
